Ummm I might have a Washi dress problem. I made two in one day.
I totally acknowledge that I have posted two Made by Rae patterns in a row but I can’t help it. I swear I’ve used other patterns; I just haven’t taken pictures of them yet!
I call this one my Washi Doggies. It’s Michael Miller and I’ve had this fabric on my WANT list for about a year. Finally!
I think I might rip out the stitching holding down the front facing and do a blind stitch. I don’t like how OBVIOUS it is on this particular dress. I did use a pretty heavy black thread and I’d rather have the uninterrupted houndstooth pattern. Ha, houndstooth!
I call this the Birthday Washi. I found the fabric at Joann’s and knew I needed to make a dress out of it. Yes, it’s quilting cotton but I actually like the stiffness for this dress. It makes the skirt more substantial somehow. While I was there I also picked up a kona cotton in navy and think I need to make another Washi with white piping.
I wore this one to my nephew’s 4th birthday party and it is soooo comfy. I might need to wear it for every birthday forever. The pockets are the best.
Loooove this pattern. I’ve already worn the Washi dogs twice: once while I was visiting my parents and again to work this week. I wore it with a kelly green sweater, because, YES. I clearly like my houndstooth with kelly.
